Premiere: Jay Feelbender Releases New Single & Video "Dancing Under The Blue Light"
As children we are able to find happiness in nothingness. But as we age, we seem to determine our emotions through false advertisement and the idea of things. With the pandemic resetting the scale, we’ve been forced to take a second look and find a way to appreciate the world around us.
Life feels as but a dream with all the turbulence occurring over the past year. Things haven’t been easy and it’s at times like these that we need to be able to appreciate all the small things that light us up in our everyday lives. It’s a strange accident but Jay Feelbender’s “Dancing Under The Blue Light” perfectly reflects the emotional strength we are all trying to seek.
The video, directed by Carlos Cajina and shot by Kellen McCann, was filmed in and around the downtown Toronto neighbourhood just shy of the pandemic hit in Canada. As you follow along you notice number of notable faces from the Toronto music community including Luna Li, Slobrina, Fade Awaays, and Groovy Tunes contributor Hillary Johnston.
“This song is about trying to enjoy the small moments. There's so much beauty in life but also so much pain - both are important and will always be there, but sometimes you have to let yourself focus on the positive in situations. The times I've started trying to appreciate the most are when I can relax and take a breath, enjoy a weekend in nature, or spend a night out listening to music or dancing with people I enjoy being around. I think as I've gotten older some of my priorities have changed. I know people come in and out of our lives, and we have to choose what to hang on to, and what we're willing to give up.”
