Tempesst Release New Single "Mushroom Cloud"
Tempesst are something out of a poetic fantasy, and their newest single “Mushroom Cloud” speaks for itself. Although they continue to encapsulate their originating sound, the band have found themselves connecting to an element of symphonic pop.
As the first single written for the album, the track set the tone of the direction the band would later take the record. “It set the tone for a balance of familiarity, the element of surprise and the weighty dark topics that I wanted to explore. It’s equal measures apology, justification and threat, the kind of confusing grey area that only exists within intimate relationships.”
The song taps into the perspective of deep pain caused by love, something that can sometimes be clouded by our own judgement. Toma [Banjanin] did not write the song from his own personal reflection, he felt “it easier to write this song as a confession from the perspective of the antagonist.”
