Luna Li Shares New Single & Video “Trying"

On February 14th, Luna Li shared her first single and music video of the year “Trying.” The video features Luna Li in a dream like fantasy; caressed by pastel colours while floating in a cloud. The singer-songwriter also incorporates in violin, an instrument she grew up training in and has now become a key element within her work. A Luna Li song as the ability to send you into a trance, and “Trying” definitely will; which was an effect she was hoping to achieve with this song. “Trying” is an expression of Luna Li’s experience dealing with her anxiety and shyness.

“This song is about anxiety and the feeling of desperation and sense of unreality that can happen when everything gets to be too overwhelming. The dynamics and dreamy feel of the music reflect the feeling of being dazed and restless. Writing this song was an exercise in vulnerability as a way to combat my shyness and to better connect with others. I want people to know that they’re not alone in struggling with their mental health, and that it’s ok to take it one day at a time.” - Luna Li
