Australia’s music scene has been flourishing, dropping new and exciting acts at ever turn. We’ve seen a massive spike within the realm of punk, psych, dance, and dream-pop, with still so much more to come. Yesterday, CLAMM, the Melbourne punk-trio returned with their follow-up single “Liar;” a sample of what’s to come from their debut album “Beseech Me” out April 9th via Meat Machine/Tin Angel Records.
CLAMM sprouted from the depths and entered an already established scene with little regard. The trio began booking gigs with acts who were willing to take a chance and soon began to draw attention. CLAMM was not complete until the addition of Maisie Everett (vocals/bass), who would join long-time friends Jack Summers (vocals/guitar) and Miles Harding (drums) on the path of musical development.
“Liar” the latest single release, tackles the inner workings/the operational chair behind mental heath. CLAMM’s use of inner rage is a powerhouse of self-expression, abolishing false ideals and allowing freedom to colour a grey area.
"The song is about mental health. It’s about wanting to break through a pattern of thinking that isn’t necessarily positive. It’s about dealing with an internal monologue that isn’t always telling the truth."
