Luna Li Releases New Single & Video for “Cherry Pit"

Muskoka, Ontario, is home to a great deal of natural beauty; from the grass, hills, lakes, cabins, it’s a little paradise for those in search of tranquility. Luna Li and her family became regular visitors to the area, spending a week of their summer in a rented cottage.

This cottage is at the heart of her new single “Cherry Pit,” having an immense impact on its foundations. The track ties two very special memories together; a family hike and a haiku.

The year Luna Li began working on the track was the year she was informed that the property had sold. While reminiscing on her favourite memories, Luna Li recalled a hike that led up to a lookout point where her family ate cherries.

On that same trip, Luna Li asked family members to take part in a collaborative session in which they would each contribute to a haiku written in her notebook. It was here where her lyrics came to life.

Luna Li has found a perfect balance, combining her classical background and angelic pop music into one world. Her fresh take and warm character have won the hearts of many and there’s no doubt this is just the start of larger things to come.
