Melbourne power punk trio CLAMM share their new song and video “Something New”, taken from the band's forthcoming sophomore album, CARE, arriving digitally and on vinyl August 19th via Meat Machine (Crack Cloud, N0V3L).
CLAMM's guitarist and vocalist Jack Summers says of the track: "'Something New' is a song about searching or yearning. It is about impatience and time, and its title refers to the process of facing seemingly new stimuli throughout life.'"
The new album is bigger, louder and darker than its predecessor. CLAMM recorded it at Rolling Stock and Sound Park Studios with Nao Anzai (Rolling Blackouts C.F., NO ZU, Cash Savage), who also plays fearsome synth on the album and has joined the band on-stage at recent shows. Saxophonist Anna Gordon (Mangelwurzel) contributes wild free jazz skronk to a number of tracks.
CLAMM sprouted from the depths and entered an already established scene with little regard. The trio began booking gigs with acts who were willing to take a chance and soon began to draw attention. CLAMM was not complete until the addition of Maisie Everett (vocals/bass), who would join long-time friends Jack Summers (vocals/guitar) and Miles Harding (drums) on the path of musical development.
