It’s incredible how music can bring people together. Even while things have slowed down for the music industry, there are still artists working hard to continue performing and releasing, keeping us optimistic for the future to come!

BUGS, a four piece hailing from London, UK,  have released their debut single “Nick Gowland” via Sad Club Records today. The single will also be released with B-Side track “The Garden.”

The quartet featuring Alice Western, Bridie Rushton, Lucy Rushton and Zhané Gandhi, connected while attending Goldsmiths University and found a closer relationship once beginning to experiment with music.

What started out as a joke based around a friend’s experience with bullying, slowly transitioned into its own plot. The more the group worked on the song, the more the underlying theme of the assholes everywhere began to develop and naturally come out.

“Nick Gowland is the boy at school who called you ugly and pinged your bra strap, the man in the crowed who says you’re good at guitar for a girl, and that guy that takes it upon himself to explain things to you that you already know despite never asking. The song is about assholes everywhere. Fuck Nick Gowland. Fuck all Nick Gowlands! You will end up miserable and alone because you’re a fucking asshole, so fuck off.”

Order the EP via Bandcamp now.
